Bicycle Seat Installation on an Electric Bike

If you ever want to switch seats on your Tower electric bike, it can accommodate just about any regular bike seat! This guide will walk you through how to install a new bike seat.

Here is a video walking through the process:





Tools needed for this are:

  • 6mm Allen Key

Here is the process:

  1. First, release the quick release seat post collar and remove the seat and seat post together.
  2. With the seat post and seat removed, use your 6mm allen key to loosen the clamp underneath the seat. Do not take this bolt out all of the way, as it can be difficult to get it aligned properly once you are installing a new seat. Once it is loosened, the upper plate (the one directly underneath the seat) can spin. Spin it around so you can just pull the seat post out from under the seat.
  3. Now that the seat has been separated from the seat post, we can now install the new seat. Flip the new seat over and rotate the upper plate so you can slot it in between the new seats rails, the same position it was in when we removed it from the old seat.
  4. Rotate the upper plate so that it is aligned with the rails and can clamp down. Make sure the clamps are within the designated clamping area on the seat rails (there will be printing on the rails letting you know the furthest it can be clamped.
  5. Once the two plates are in position, use your 6mm allen key to tighten up and clamp the rails to the seat post.
  6. If you need to adjust the seat position, loosen the clamp bolt and pivot the seat up or down.

And that is all there is to installing a new seat on your Tower Electric Bike!
