Electric Trikes In Rank Order

eTrikes of Highest Distinction

Electric trikes scoring between an 86 and 100 are designated as "eTrikes of Highest Distinction". With "very good" eBikes rating in the 60 range, understand our structured scoring system sets a very high bar for this highest grouping. Very few electric trikes qualify for this class.

Outstanding Electric Trikes

eTrikes scoring between 71 and 85 are awarded the Tower eBike status of "Outstanding Electric Trike". This is the second level in our hierarchy, but these electric trikes are what most clients and manufacturers consider to be high-end models.

Very Good Electric Trikes

Electric trikes scoring between 56 and 70 on Tower's 100-point eBike scale are considered "Very Good eBikes". Understand that the eBike market has a wide range of quality, therefore we employ our full 100-point scale to evaluate eBikes fairly. For this reason, a score in the 60s is still considered a very good electric trike. This isn't like high school letter grading where a 60% is a low D. A 60 on our scale is still a very good quality electric bike.  You'll still have a fantastic electric trike if you select something in this Tower eBike rating range, but you're approaching the line that distinguishes high-quality e-bikes from the rest.

Mediocre Electric Trikes

eTrikes scoring between 41 and 55 on Tower's 100-point electric bike rating scale are what we consider to be "Mediocre eBikes". While you might be able to pick these up for what seems like a good deal, usually with this classification of electric trikes there are some major tradeoffs on the quality, performance, and durability front.

Not Recommended Electric Trikes

Electric trikes scoring between 0 and 40 on Tower's 100-point electric bike rating scale are what we consider to be "Not Recommended Electric Trikes". Our Tower rating system is a highly structured rating system created by eBike technicians with decades of expertise within the bicycle and eBike industries, so in addition to getting a trike with a lot of questionable components and quality trade-offs, when you see a bike in this classification group you can expect to have a lot more regular maintenance issues to deal with it.
