Rear Bike Rack
A bike rack can be one of the most useful accessories you can get for your electric bike. Installing a rear bike rack onto your ebike allows you to store more cargo onto your ebike, making it that much easier to run errands or commute on your electric bicycle. With many different accessories to mount to it, a rear rack can really help maximize your riding potential! Featuring a sleek black design, sturdy aluminum alloy frame, and a max capacity of 45 lbs (25kg), this rack can carry all your gear for your ride! We also sell side grocery bags and pannier bike bags to help make the most of your rear bike rack.
Why would I want a rear rack on my bike?
A rear rack on your bicycle or electric bicycle can transform your normal 2 wheeled fitness machine into an alternate form of transportation for your day to day life. Maybe your local grocery store is only a couple of blocks away, but you had no way of getting your groceries on your bicycle to get back home. With a rear rack, you can attach a top basket and/or side pannier bags to hold all of your groceries for the ride home! And just like that, it is one less trip that you need to use your car for. This can be translated to all sorts of other errands. There are also all sorts of different bags you can get for your rear bike rack, like open top grocery bags or rugged dry bags used for camping/bikepacking adventures. Such a small addition to your bike or ebike can have such a huge impact on your life and your riding! You can start thinking of your bike as an alternative to driving your car certain places. After all, who doesn’t want to ride their bike more?
How do I install the rear rack?
The rear rack is secured to your ebike via main support legs and 2 support arms that attach at one point. All of these supports have adjustments to make sure that the bike rack has a perfect fit to your bike! When you install the rear rack, it is best to start with installing the support legs first, as it gives you a good base to work with. On your Tower Ebike (or other similar styled bike) near the rear wheel, there are 2 bolt holes on either side of the bike frame.
The rack may have to be spread apart slightly to accommodate slightly larger frame spacings. This is best to do once one side is partially threaded in. Once one side is threaded in and held in place, you can pull the other support leg and get it lined up over the bolt hole in the frame. Getting that bolt partially threaded into place will then help the rack be partially attached to the bike frame. We will now install the support arms to their connector plate. The connector plate will have 2 ends that flare up, with a hole right in the center. Each of those flared up ends will bolt onto the support arms via the nuts and bolts provided.
Once those arms are attached to the plate, you can now mount the center of the plate to the seat stay bridge on the bike frame. There will be a longer bolt which will go through that center hole on the bracket and thread into the ebike frame. With that final center bolt in, you can then go around and tighten all of the bolts, securing the rear bike rack to the frame!
